The Virtues of Vestapol Tuning
This website is dedicated to providing educational resources for guitarists interested in learning Vestapol tuning. The term “Vestapol” describes all tunings that use the interval pattern 1-5-1-3-5-1. This includes Open D, Open E, Open C, Open B. This tuning is very commonly used in blues and folk music, but is an extremely versatile tuning that can be used to perform in all genres.

An internationally touring guitarist and singer-songwriter, Jake has released 5 full-length albums of original songs and performed in a dozen countries. He is also an educator, teaching guitar in open tuning and songwriting to students across the globe. His course, Mastering Open D Tuning, is available now, along with the accompanying book.
He has also written the book The Songwriter’s Way: A Guide to Writing Lyrics, and forthcoming projects in 2021 include his 6th studio album and an acoustic album of original instrumental compositions in open tuning.
